Quarterly Membership Meeting
April 1, 2008
1. Call to Order: Tony Hart called the meeting to order. Minutes from the March meeting were approved as written.
2. Treasurer’s Report: There have been more fees collected from businesses this year than any other year.
3. Committee Reports.
Community Awareness:
• Planning has begun for the Oak Ridge Emergency Management Forum that will be held in the fall, 2008. The theme of the forum will be recovery efforts.
• Eagle Construction and Environmental Services sent a letter to the LEPC stating that they would like to become involved in our LEPC meetings. Tony Hart will reply.
Emergency Response:
• Emergency response crews have been spending most of their time with the Oliver Springs oil well fire. There has been a great response from the fire department and EMS.
• On April 2nd, ORNL is conducting a tabletop exercise at the JIC. This exercise is in preparation for the full scale exercise being conducted on June 3 and 4, 2008.
Transportation:
• No report
Finance:
• Budget request from Steve Payne was submitted for consideration. He is requesting 10 hand-held rad monitors for the county’s hazmat vehicles.
4. Old Business:
Pandemic Flu exercise was held at the Anderson County Health Department on March 26th. Forty-two participants attended. The exercise was led by Jack Cochran and was very well received by all who attended.
5. New Business:
• TEMA will be involved in a state-wide drill April 20 and 21. MMC will participate in the drill by testing new patient tracking software.
• Tony Hart met with Oak Ridge Fire Department personnel to discuss ETTP terminology. The transition of the Fire Department from ETTP to ORFD has been a success.
6. Next meeting scheduled for May 6, 2008.
