Executive Committee Meeting
July 8, 2008
1. Call to Order: Tony Hart called the meeting to order. Minutes from the May meeting were approved as written.
2. Treasurer’s Report: There was one deposit in May. No deposits in June.
3. Committee Reports.
Community Awareness:
• Lynn attended the Miners Festival on 5/16/08 in Lake City.
Emergency Response:
• The EOC was open for two days for the June 3rd and 4th ORNL Exercise. Dispatched one ambulance for the exercise.
• Training classes scheduled; NIMS 700 on July 21st and ICS 200 and 800 on the first and third Mondays in August.
Transportation:
• No report
Finance:
• An audit will be conducted and presented at the October meeting.
4. Old Business:
ETTP conducted a Security exercise on May 21st. Community participation was limited to the ORFD.
5.New Business:
Lynn Chilcoat is beginning to organize a DART team and has gained some exposure through the Clinton Courier. There are 42 people interested in training to receive state credentials.
DARTA will meet on July 28th at 1:30 at the Anderson County Health Department
Betty Dick was involved in an anthrax exercise in Blount County. Over 600 doses of medication were dispensed.
MMC’s helipad will be open to receive and send patients beginning July 14th. Training for staff continues this week.
Lifestar will be operating from a hangar in Andersonville.
ORNL’s 2 day drill has many firsts. The drill was conducted over 14 hours instead of 7. The RMCC (Regional Medical Communications Center) participated. Nine patients were transferred, and Baptist West and Parkwest participated for the first time. The 45th CST was fully integrated and transported soil samples to a lab.
A Panel Discussion will be held on July 30th at the American Museum of Science and Energy regarding full-participation exercises.
Red Cross has had an active summer. There have been twice as many single-house fires this year over last year in addition to the oil well explosion and fire. The Red Cross has also sent support to the flooded areas in the Midwest.
6. The next meeting is scheduled for August 5, 2008.
