Executive Committee Meeting
May 6, 2008
1. Call to Order: Tony Hart called the meeting to order. Minutes from the April meeting were approved as written.
2. Treasurer’s Report: There was one deposit in April.
3. Committee Reports.
Community Awareness:
• Susan Gawarecki attended an Earth Day event.
• Lynn Chilcoat will attend the Miners Festival on 5/16/08 in Lake City.
Emergency Response:
• ORNL is conducting a full-scale exercise on June 3-4, 2008.
• In July, EMA will offer ICS 100 and NIMS 700 courses
• In August, EMA will offer ICS 200 and NIMS 800B courses.
Transportation:
• No report
Finance:
• A motion was made to approve expenditure for 115 ‘Masters of Disaster’ kits. The Red Cross will purchase one for each of the 115 K-8 grades in Anderson County. Motion carried.
• A motion was made to approve expenditure for the purchase of four hand-held radiation monitors for Anderson County’s HazMat vehicles. Motion carried.
4. Old Business:
Joe Inman asked for clarification on Tony Hart’s meeting with the Oak Ridge Fire Department. Tony stated that he discussed terminology that might be used by ETTP.
Tony Hart participated in the ACHD Public Health Week event.
5. New Business:
ETTP will conduct an exercise on May 21st. The only external participant will be the Oak Ridge Fire Department.
Lynn Chilcoat provided Tony Hart with a list of companies that have previously completed a Tier II report, but have not completed on this year. Janet Murrill will compare the list to previous years’ participants.
B.J. Boyd discussed the all-hazards training that is provided by FEMA at the Noble Training Facility in Alabama. All expenses are paid for participants. More information can be found at https://cdp.dhs.gov.
6. June 3 meeting has been cancelled because of a conflict with the ORNL Full Participation Drill. An e-mail reminder will be sent to members regarding the July meeting date.
